Ritoque, Chile

So Ritoque was by far the best beach that we have been to so far! It was the chillest place we have travelled and the people were awesome and nice. We spent our time always on the beach, in the water, sea kayaking, horseback riding, cooking fresh mexican food, meeting and drinking with friends, walking on the beach and sleeping in hammocks. I would be content if this is all that I did in life. It was so simple and the weather was beautiful, about 75-80 degrees everyday. Our hostel/canbanas were right on the beach and were made of three houses. Our house had four other people in it and we had our own kitchen, living room and outside porch. Plus we had the fir pit outside our house. The place had no phones, internet or TV so we really enjoyed being disconnected from the world. The closest town was Quintero and was just a Taxi ride away, but we tried to stay at the beach as much as we could. We were only suppose to stay 2 nights but we loved it so much we begged to stay another 2 nights. We met people from all over the world and made some awesome friends. Plus the owners were super cool and really set the vines of the place. Everyone was friendly and we all spent the nights by the fire or playing games. There was a restaurant on the beach where a live band played the first night to benefit a guys who house burned down in a fire. It was great to meet the locals too. They all spoke in slower Spanish when we asked so we got to practice it. I cannot describe the vibe of this place, just imagine the nicest Chilean people with a super chill surfer vibe, and that pretty much describes them. The water was so clear and refreshing and the hostel had two dogs that we learned to love, Paltitia and Rainbow. One was a puppy only a few moths old! We did not want to leave and spent as much time there as we could. We are still going through withdrawls and want to go back to Ritoque Raices Hostel as soon as we can, maybe see our friends again. This place was probably the most relaxing part of our trip. Plus they had tortilla chips and I made refried beans from scratch!!!! Oh how we miss the Ritoque beach lifestyle, we will make sure to live like that sometime in the near future.
