Puerto iguazu

Hola amigos. Estamos en puerto iguazu y Nos gusta mucho porque la ciudad tiene mas arboles y animales. We are so glad to be in nature again And our hostel hAs a pool (more pictures to come). We are going to spend most of our time at the national park and tomorrow we will visit the longest waterfall in the world! The weather is once again beautiful, just a little muggy but we spent the day by the pool. We have found a hostel that we already love because of all the locals and tonight we are eating here for our first asado at the hostel sweet hostel. I hope the background is better aunt Nancy. Just so you all know my job is the blog and Ambers is facespace, but we both help each other with the writing and love to hear from you all about Los estates unidos! Shout out to Duffy, Julia, dad, Beth, mom, Cj, Jill,Dan e., Savannah,Brett, joy, isabel, and all thoughs who have responded to us about their lifes. We love hearing what you Are up too! We are learning so much about south America and a out each other. We knew traveling would be a learning experience but we had no idea that we both would be confronted with the many obstacles and funny experiences. We have learned to laugh at everything and take each minute as it comes. We still are looking for our favorite place that truly fits us, and so far this place is it. Oh yeah the 18 hour bus ride was no problem for us. We got to sleep and drink on the bus, what more could you ask for in life? We hope you all are good and not taking any moment for granted, we are all alive right! Plenty to be thankful for, love you all! Come visit!Ciao amigos!

Buenos Noches

So while we have the internet I thought that I would write one last time before we leave Uruguay. This country is great and we love that the people are so chill. We just ate a great dinner and are going to meet out waitress Wanda for some drinks. We have to wake up at 6:30 am to catch a  bus and boat to Buenos Aires and then off to Iguazu Falls. So we hope that you all sleep good. Sorry Duffy about the bad connection when we keep calling, for some reason it is not working that well but we will try again now. Also we are thinking of going to Costa Rica on the way back. Anyone want to visit us there????? Okay off for a nightcap and some more drinks, Ciao. Oh yeah Cuz, quit cuzin so hard and write me back. Paz.

Just a few more pictures!

So here are just s few pictures so you can see how I drank Mate, the beautiful houses, and another picture of the boardwalks. Alright so sometimes my writing is quick and repetitive, but you all love it right! So now we are off to eat at our favorite restaurant in Montevideo where we have made friends with the staff, especially Wanda! Then we are going to chill and watch some T.V. (we have one in our room, with English stations!). Tomorrow we have our first long bus ride, 19 hours to Puerto Iguazu. Luckily our beds recline 160 degrees and they serve food and wine. Well off to eat, oh yeah it is 80 degrees, just to rub it in! Again read Confessions of an Economic Hitman, by John Perkins, I cant get it off my mind.

Punta Del Este Photos

Can you find Sean?

The infamous hand statue in Punta del Este
So the week in Punta del Este was amazing. The weather was on average 75 degrees and we loved it! It reminded us of a mixture of Miami and Point Loma in San Diego. We had our own place for a week and it was a block from the Atlantic side of the point. Punta del Este is surrounded by water, one side the Atlantic and the other the Rio del Plata (which is a huge bay between Argentina and Uruguay). The water was an amazing blue and the perfect temperature to cool you off after some time on the beach. The town was pretty dead during the week, but on the weekends it was the place to be! We were able to save money by cooking for ourselves and did a lot of walking. The houses here were beautiful and they were building everywhere you looked. We got sunburned the first day so we took it easy in the sun for the rest of the week! We went for a long run, learned a ton about Mate (the local tea), walked everyday on the beach, ate more empanadas, and won $150 bucks at the casino on penny slots! Oh yeah, Mate is the thing to do in Uruguay, everyone local is drinking it but you have to search to find the correct way to do it. It is like a secrect society! Luckily we found some literature about it and made our own- the stuff is bitter, but it gives you a caffiene-like buzz. I finished Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins. If you have not read this you need to. It is an eye-opening book that makes me realize that as Americans we have a lot to learn and we need to vote everyday with the dollars we each spend. READ IT!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah the fish was wait for it......awesome! The local fish was Brotola (from Brazil) and the local sandwiches, Chivitos, are my new thing. Picture this a steak, egg over easy, ham with cheese inside, veggies (no bun or gluten!) all on top of a bed of french fries! Bomb! We also found our favorite Bar, Moby dicks. Well thanks for reading and I hope that I am not repeating myself too much. Also if my grammar and spelling is not the best, sorry but its a blog. We are now off to Montevideo again and then on the way to Iguazu Falls. We are excited to be in the jungle and do some hiking. Hope that you are all good, Happy Birthday Julian!!!! Oh yeah Christmas is way less comercialized down here, very interesting. So with all your Christmas shopping remember to give back and spend the dollar wisely. We miss you all and will be in touch soon.

Punta del este!!!!!

So hello everyone, sorry about the lack of posts but we have been enjoying our time at the beach for a week. We have been in our own apartment sleeping, cooking our own food, drinking great cheap wine and relaxing. We are so greatful for our time here together and the hot weather in December. Plus it has been about 80 degrees everyday and the water is clear and so blue. We have been able to see many sunsets on the atlantic ocean, just imagine that! We have been able to go on some jogs because of the ramblas (boardwalks) around the entire point. Oh yeah the pescado is amazing, dad you would love the fish. We love the local radio they play bob marley, rolling stones and Judy mowatt. It is crazy how they play these songs right when we start to listen to the station. Also amber had Deja vu today, good sign right? Hi Duffy we miss you and kenai and everyone friends and family.
